Tornadoes and Waterspouts

Waterspouts, air vortices which are actually a weaker form of tornado are common in the sea of southern Dalmatia, and are rarely seen on land. In the Adriatic they occur at any time of the year, but mostly in the summer and autumn. As is the case with thunder, the Dubrovnik area is at the Croatian top according to the number of waterspouts.
